Despite going down 0 - 32 against Rylands some encouraging words were sent by a North West Counties League member:
"Had the pleasure of watching this game this morning, a superb entertaining match with some fantastic attacking rugby from a highly skilled Rylands team and some equally superb tackling from Pilks. Injuries and a lack of substitutes sadly meant Pilks were unable to repeat their titanic feat of the first half by keeping in touch with Rylands and subsequently Rylands sustained pressure eventually paid dividends"
"Congratulations to both teams and their supporters for a very enjoyable morning. Both clubs should be proud of their players efforts"
"Keep up the good work lads!"

Barry Pope smashed 3 Recs records as the 1st team beat Heysham Atoms 106 - 4 in the Lancashire Cup. Scoring 54 points with 6 tries and 15 goals he beat the most points in a match record along with the most goals. It was his final try of the afternoon that brought the biggest cheer however, as number six beat Denis Litherlands 30 year record of five, with the only modern day player to get near this tally being Andy Traverse also with 5 in 1997. Barry has also beat the 53 points scored by George West for Hull KR in 1905 which is the RFL's all time record. The club are now investigating the amateur game to see if Barrys' effort is a world record.
Barry was not the only record breaker today as the team score of 106 is the highest ever by a Pilks side.
